Oaklands College gets involved in Giant Monopoly Weekend for part of Heritage Open Weekend

On Saturday 12 September, Oaklands College hosted a location on the real life St Albans Monopoly trail, celebrating the historic city centre’s Heritage Open Weekend.

Situated at the Roman Hypocaust in Verulamium Park, Oaklands College held interactive, family orientated construction games.

Oaklands Events Officer, Khaled Hassan, commented: “This was the College’s third year taking part in the Giant Monopoly Weekend. It was, again, such a fantastic day, celebrating the rich history of St Albans town, where places of interest open their doors to the public, free of charge.”

Organiser for Heritage Open Weekend, Beth Tyler, said: “It was our most successful to date, with over 1300 people take part.

“Thanks again to Oaklands College and hopefully we will see you on Sunday 15th September 2013 for next year’s event.”
