A fired up Oaklands side, including England under 18 International Nick Auterac dominated from the start and early pressure was rewarded with a try by winger Ross Bird. A 45 metre penalty by the outstanding Sam Stanley saw Oaklands open up an 8-0 lead in the first five minutes.
Oaklands pushed on remorselessly and further first half tries from Michael Ayrton and Josh Leszuzuk either side of Ross Bird completing his brace, saw Oakland go in at half time 34-0 ahead.
Despite the big lead Oaklands continued to push forward and it was not long before the outstanding Nick Auterac got in on the act with a quick tap and go leading to a deserved try. Further tries from openside Jamie Bache, Sam Stanley, Phil Tsangari and another from Michael Ayrton, saw Oaklands finish 65-0 winners. Despite a superb 20 point haul for Sam Stanley, Nick Auterac was awarded man of the match for his marauding display in the loose and powerful display in set piece play.
Dave Hesketh, Rugby Programme Manager commented: “Our appetite for the victory was over whelming and very noticeable. The team executed well and starved Truro of any quality possession. There were some outstanding individual performances out there but the most pleasing aspect was the collective desire to win and win well, this bodes well for the future.”
