Oaklands College has been officially welcomed into the London 2012 Olympic Get Set network, in recognition of its commitment to the Olympic and Paralympic values.

As part of the Get Set network the college will be given access to exclusive competitions and other opportunities related to the 2012 Games.

Mark Dawe, Oaklands College Principal and Chief Executive, commented: “Our work around the Olympic and Paralympic values has inspired learners and we hope that our continued involvement with the build up to London 2012 will enrich their education and offer them new opportunities to get involved.”

“Events that we ran included a World Cup day, where our Sports and Academy students hosted different games for primary pupils from across St. Albans and Harpenden, all focused on the Olympic and Paralympic values.”
