Student Interest Political Conference

24 November 2010

On Thursday 18th November students from Government, Politics and Citizenship AS and A2 classes went to a Philip Allan Student Politics Interest day.

Speakers included Nick Robinson, Peter Tatchell for Outrage, a LGBT charity and pressure group, and Professor Vernon Bogdanor (David Cameron’s University tutor). Speakers discussed issues ranging from gay equality to politics and the general election in 2010.

Students were given the opportunity to ask questions from all of the speakers and raised issues such as taxes, benefits, news bias and student riots.

The day was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
