College Athletic Champion

Oaklands College Athletics Academy student Martina Barber recently returned from the INAS European Championships in Gavle, Sweden, where she won gold for the heptathlon event and silver medals for the 100m hurdles, 4x100m and 4x400m relay’s. Martina also set a British record in the 100m hurdles with a time of 20.75s and is part of the GB Women’s team, ranking 2nd overall at the games.

This has been a momentous year for Martina. Along with the achievement of INAS she also won 2 silver medals in March at the World championships, in Manchester for both the Heptathlon and the 60m hurdles. She also competed at the Olympic stadium in Stratford in the U.K school games in May, where she won gold in the 1500m and silver in the shot put.
