On Saturday 21 June Oaklands College and the Hatfield Town Centre team encouraged people in and around Hatfield to try something new at their give it a go day. The event took place in the centre of Hatfield in the White Lion Square 11am–4pm.
A host of free ‘have a go’ activities for all the family, and visitors were on offer, including build a brick arch, plumbing and electrical work, and print making techniques – to name a few. Those with equestrian aspirations learnt how to groom and bandage a horse.
Kaleidoscope ran their popular free ‘Junk Percussion Workshops’ and there were live music performances on stage including the College’s very own Performing Arts students, a salsa act, plus the popular Asian drummers. Also available were a delicious array of foods and drinks from around the world to celebrate the diversity of the Hatfield community.
