Assessors visited The Stables earlier this month, assessing a lunchtime service with students in the kitchens led by Stables Head Chef Martin West and serving front of house serving food prepared with care, understanding and skill and using good quality ingredients.
Hospitality and Catering students at the College are able to rack up hours if industry standard real life experience by creating dishes and waiting tables in the College restaurant during its daily lunchtime service and select themed dining evenings.
Head of Hospitality and Catering at the College Mike la Traille said: “The win is a fantastic step in formally recognising the standards set and achieved by our staff and students, and is a respected accolade that is sure to do wonders for our reputation in the wider community.
Oaklands College Principal and Chief Executive Zoe Hancock said: “I am delighted that our fantastic hospitality provision has been given the highest accolade by People 1st. This is testament to the hard work of many Oaklands College staff over many years; this recognition for their excellence and expertise is richly deserved.”
