Oaklands College this weekend entertained thousands of guests at the St Albans Food and Drink Festival, held on St Peter's Street in St Albans city centre.
Now in it's 12th year, the St Albans Food and Drink Festival is an annual celebration of local restaurants and food caterers, who are invited to cook up a range of delicious culinary delights for local guests.
From cakes to fudge, win and gin and culinary cuisines from over 30 unique food stalls, Oaklands College joined in on the action in a fun-filled weekend, despite bad weather threatening to dampen spirits.
The festival is a perfect day out, allowing visitors to sample the best of St Albans food and drink, whilst offering Oaklands College the opportunity to stage live demonstrations from Head Chef Martin West and butchery demonstrations from members of our Hospitality & Catering team.
Additionally, festival goers also get the opportunity to sample life on the Oaklands Farm, with a range of animals, tractors and even giant pumpkin harvests to sample.
The event gave Hospitality & Catering student Amber Jones the opportunity to help The Stables Head Chef Martin West with his "Eggs Royale, or is it?" live demonstration, whilst also telling the viewing public what she loves most about studying at Oaklands College.
Amber, who plans to open her own cake shop in St Albans said: "I thoroughly enjoy the course, it teaches you not just hands on cookery skills but also the importance of business within the industry and understanding how to run a business, restaurant or store, which really appeals to me."
