Oaklands College aiming to raise £1,000 for local foodbanks

Oaklands College are joining other Further Education colleges across the country in the FE Food Bank Friday initiative.

FE Food Bank - News story

Coronavirus is having a hugely negative economic and social impact across the UK, with many foodbanks seeing a sharp decline in donations at this challenging time and are very much in need of support.

Oaklands College works closely with our local community, and we want to do all that we can to support it.

We are joining other Further Education colleges across the country in the FE Food Bank Friday initiative, which aims to raise much-needed funds for local foodbanks.

As we are unable to physically collect food items under the current circumstances, we are pledging to raise money for community foodbanks instead, so that they can continue to operate despite the social distancing measures taking effect across the country.

We are asking anyone willing during this difficult period to consider donating what they can via the FE Foodbank Friday JustGiving page. The total funds raised will be distributed between foodbanks in St Albans and Welwyn Garden City.

Thank you so much for your kind donation, if you are willing and able to donate to our cause, you can do so here.
