Assessment

You will need to successfully complete all units to achieve the qualification. There are no exams. Assessment takes the form of both practical and written tasks.

About the course

This is a two year practical, work-related course. You learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands. As well as learning about music technology you will develop your knowledge of the music industry as a whole. Students gain experience using the latest industry standard equipment including Apple Macs running Logic Pro and Pro Tools software as well as learning how to use the College's dedicated recording studio.

Career options

Students can go onto a variety of courses in higher education. Previous students have also progressed onto a variety of roles within the music industry such as working for a record label, studio engineer, live sound/tour operator and sound design/composing for film.

All Music students develop experience and knowledge of how the music industry works.

Course Content - What will I learn?

This course consists of an exciting range of production, recording, theoretical and contextual units that will provide you with exciting experiences which will allow you to develop industry relevant skills and abilities. You will have access to an exceptional enrichment programme including DJ workshops, production collectives and performances.
As well as your formal studies, you will benefit from an exceptoinal enrichment programme providing you with numerous opportunities to support live performances at various venues. As part of the course you will be required to complete work experience.
