After months of revising, hard work and studying, A Level students from Oaklands College gathered to collect their results.

Students celebrated record success with 100% achievement this year across the wide range of 20 subject offers, made even more impressive with the fact that there were 244 entries from the A Level department, which is growing increasingly popular among teenagers.

Subjects that were particularly strong included: Art and Design, Media Studies, History, Economics, Sociology, Citizenship Studies and Law that all achieved high grade percentages well above the national averages.

I’m going to my first choice university with is Birmingham. It’s been a different style of teaching at college compared to school and I have had a great time at college.”

Georgia Murphy, 19, who achieved three As in Biology, Chemistry and Psychology at AS Level, said: “I’m absolutely astounded to have done so well. I’ve got one more year and then I’m planning on going to university to study either biochemistry or natural sciences.”

Oaklands Principal Zoe Hancock said: “I’d like to congratulate all our students on their successes. They have worked really hard this year and their achievements are well deserved. I wish them all every success in the future, whatever they choose to do.”
