and qualified staff that nurture, ensuring that the children are the focus of their practice, endeavouring to provide them with the best provision possible. Our Keyworker system ensures that children and parents are able to build strong relationships with staff and work together to ensure the children have an enjoyable experience.

Acorns Nursery has highly qualified personnel with the majority of permanent staff holding a Level 3 Qualification or above. Several people are working towards higher qualifications and there is an ethos within the Nursery of reflective practice and continual improvement. All staff are Paediatric First Aid trained and they all hold up-to-date Safeguarding and Food Hygiene Qualifications. There is currently 17 permanent staff to ensure that our adult to child ratio is high and there is continuity of education and care.

We are also a training placement for Oaklands College which enables us to contribute to high standards of practice within the profession. We are committed to lifelong learning for our practitioners and encourage the sharing and development of good practice through links with Herts County Council and our local Children’s Centre and through regular updating courses for all staff.
