On Sunday 13 June Oaklands College hosted their annual Summer Fayre and estimated record numbers attended with around 5,000 people enjoying the entertainment on offer.

Highlights of the day included the Art, Fashion and Design students fashion show, dog agility, cattle shows, and tank rides.

Different marquees set up on the lawns of Oaklands rural Smallford campus held stalls selling jewellery, cakes, toys, honey and cards. The funfair proved very popular as well as the tractor rides.

The falconry and animal displays drew in the crowds as well as the stilt walkers and sporting games.

Oaklands students and staff were heavily involved in the day’s activities, including staging a professional fashion show, providing live music and entertainment, offering beauty treatments and showing the animals.  Many of the activities at the event were raising money for charity and hundreds of pounds were raised for good causes.

Mark Dawe, Oaklands College Principal and Chief Executive commented: “Our Summer Fayre proved popular again, offering entertainment and a fun day out for all of the family. It is great that so many of our students and staff get involved in putting on displays for the public to see their talent, and for them to show the community what they can do.

“This year was busier than ever and I would like to thank the local community for their support in making today such a success.”
