HARPENDEN — Level 3 Business students at Oaklands College enjoyed an educational visit to Rothamsted Enterprises this afternoon.

Students listened to talks from some of Rothamsted Enterprises Senior Leadership Team, including CEO Nicole Sadd, formerly of Oaklands College, Front of House Manager Steph Forrester, Head Chef Jez Beasley, Conference and Events Supervisor Melissa Finch and Marketing Manager Claire Fawn.

In addition to learning about the impressive new business model in place at Rothamsted, students were able to participate in a number of short tasks, based on what they had learnt.

Students discussed in groups the appropriate mix of promotional activity, including social media and other methods, which should be considered when appealing to a large target audience.

Students were invited to deliberate and provide examples of and importance of good and bad customer service, considering the impact a customers experience has on a company and other prospective customers.

The aims of the visit to Rothamsted was to inspire students and encourage them to develop ideas as part of their Unit 9 Creative Product Promotion assignment, where they will be required to create some promotional material to support and promote a future event that Rothamsted are holding.

On behalf of all of Oaklands College, we would like to extend our gratitude to Rothamsted for providing our students with a fantastic learning opportunity.
