St Albans Football Academy (SAFA) are celebrating after being crowned champions in the English College Football league.
This is their third league title in four years, and the team made it through the season unbeaten.
Academy manager Steve Castle said, “The season has been very good, with not only the results from both teams but their general enthusiasm and solid attitude shown. Several lads have combined their college football with men’s reserve football and excelled. Two of our students, Romelle Alomenu and Tom Canham made their debut in the Southern League Central to cap a very successful season for SAFA”.
Community football Co-ordinator Karen Gibson added: “I am over the moon that all the hard work and commitment the boys have shown this season has come to fruition and they have won the league title. What an amazing achievement for our academy to win this accolade three out of the past four years.”
SAFA are busy recruiting new students for the 2016/17 football season. Anyone interested in joining the St Albans Football Academy should contact: karen.gibson@oaklands.ac.uk.
