Oaklands Basketball Academy in conjunction with Basketball England offers the opportunity for players to combine academic studies with an elite basketball environment.
Oaklands Academy provides an array of challenging competitive opportunities for each of its 80+ basketball athletes. The college teams compete in the EABL & WEABL as well as national schools and AOC competitions, we have a team for every player at every level!
For National Teams and Regional players Oaklands Wolves has a WBBL franchise for women and a U18 Premiership team for men. We also have a Senior NBL D2 opportunity in conjunction with our partner club Essex Leopards.
What you need
Players ability will be assessed individually by the coaching staff on a visit or at one of our basketball trials during the year. Players can apply directly to the Academy or be recommended through your school, club or regional coach. The entry requirements for the A levels and BTEC courses can be viewed alongside the course listing in this course guide.
The basketball programmes are timetabled to work alongside your academics to maximise achievement on court and in the classroom.

Players can also gain further qualification sin basketball coaching, refereeing and officiating from our Academy development programme
Progress in the academy will depend on your work ethic and ability to learn.Students leave us with opportunities in professional playing careers, basketball scholarships (USA or UK) or high performing UK Universities.
