Oaklands College staff got together this week as part of a special charity fundraiser, as they enjoyed a quiz night which raised over £3,000 for three local charities.

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Oaklands has championed its college values by providing support for both its students and the wider community, through student and staff-led initiatives.

During what is usually a very busy period at the college, Oaklands have contributed further to the local community by donating £3,000 to three local charities, MINDStephen Lawrence Charitable Trust and the joint-college FE Foodbank initiative.

As well as teaming up with the national 3D Crowd project, which has provided over 170,000 face shields and personal protective equipment (PPE) for NHS staff throughout the coronavirus pandemic, Oaklands have remained dedicated to their local communities, working with students to deliver food parcels for the vulnerable and sewing additional scrub uniforms for local NHS and health care professionals.
