After completing the Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Art & Design at Oaklands College Charlotte moved on to study a degree in Fine Art at the University of Arts London.

After completing the Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Art & Design at Oaklands College Charlotte moved on to study a degree in Fine Art at the University of Arts London. Since graduating from UAL, Charlotte has been focusing on a career in marketing and is now working for the events company ‘Broadwick Live’.
Having successfully completed the Foundation Art & Design course at Oaklands, Charlotte went on to study at UAL. Charlotte says “The Foundation course gave me a complete and rounded view of all subjects and fully prepared me for my degree”. She recommended going straight to BTEC if thinking of a creative course. Charlotte chose the Foundation course after Sixth Form, however given the level of creative freedom and open and supportive nature of the department she wished she had joined sooner!
The Foundation Diploma is an innovative and exciting course designed to develop all your Art and Design skills across a wide range of disciplines. Students are required to successfully complete nine units and the course is divided into three main stages: Exploratory, Pathway, and Confirmatory.
Reflecting on her time at Oaklands, Charlotte said she would definitely recommend Oaklands. Charlotte spoke highly of her tutors saying “they were a great support” and described her time here “as efficient, lots of freedom, no limits, a more adult place to be”. Charlotte went on to say that the college prepares you in the right way for what lies ahead in your future career or studies.
Charlotte has now chosen a career in marketing and is enjoying working life in Camden at the company Broadwick Live; where her Digital Marketing role is to promote the award winning Rewind annual festivals. When asked what advice she would give to future students looking to study at Oaklands she replied “Go with your passion, choose from your heart and the rest will follow”.
