Meet Jordan Allard, a former Level 3 Music Production student at Oaklands College’s Welwyn Garden City campus.

A two year practical, work-related course. Students learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands. As well as learning about music technology you will develop your knowledge of the music industry as a whole. Students gain experience using the latest industry standard equipment including Apple Macs running Logic Pro and Pro Tools software as well as learning how to use the College’s dedicated recording studio.

We sat down with Jordan to ask him about his Oaklands experience:

Jordan, what was your experience like studying Music at Oaklands College?

“Whilst studying Music at Oaklands College, I was in the process of building my own Promotions Company; Tombstome Promotions.

My time at the college gave me the experience and skills required to enable me to now run monthly events in Stevenage Old Town. Not only do I do this, I also host and promote shows and small tours up and down the country.

I combine my business with working as a Recording/Mix and Mastering Engineer at London Road Studios in Baldock, it is here that I have the pleasure to record and make music with talented musicians from all genres, styles and backgrounds.”
