Maisie, an England/Irish Hospitality & Catering student at the our on-site Stables Restaurant facility in St Albans, is gearing up for a momentous trip to Ireland, where she will be competing in the CRDM World Championships.

The CRDM Championships, short for ‘Cumann Rince Dea Mheasa’ is a young, dynamic and professional organisation whose aim is to unite and support its members and promote and preserve Irish dancing.

Maisie, who will travelling to Ireland with her twin sister, will be competing in her very first CRDM Championships and will be supported by her experienced sister, entering her third competition.

Maisie, who has set herself a target of finishing in the Top 25, wants to build on the success of her sister who last year finished in the Top 10 in the World.

Led by her passion for producing and consuming good food, Maisie wants to make it in the hospitality and catering industry as a pastry or larder chef.

“The major highlights of my course to date have been all of the educational visits we experience at Oaklands College. We recently went to The Shard in London and I was also hand-selected to attend a trip to the Coworth Park grounds, it’s great to learn more about the industry and meet experts who occupy the job role I would like in the future!”

Maisie will be hanging up her chef whites from 24th April to fly out to Ireland and compete in the CRDM Championships, where she will be supported by her mum, dance teacher and sister.
