We caught up with L4 Business Administration apprentice Scott Boyd about the challenges of his apprenticeship during the global pandemic.
Name: Scott Boyd
Course Studied: L4 Business Administration Apprenticeship
We sat down with Scott Boyd, a Level 4 Business Administration apprentice currently in his second year at Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council.
How did you apprenticeship duties change in-line with the pandemic?
“Myself and a variety of my fellow apprentices from across the council offices adapted really well to the changes that came with the COVID-19 pandemic.
Throughout lockdown, our efforts focused on helping the local community, picking up and delivering vital food parcels for vulnerable people in Welwyn Garden City.
In addition to this, we also collected food parcels and delivered them to a vital drop-in centre, offering support to those who needed it most.”
As part of his apprenticeship, Scott was able to contribute and play a key role as part of the dedicated team of professionals at Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council, collectively helping their local community by offering financial help and advice, self-isolation support, food and free school meals and offering support to local businesses and organisations during what was a difficult period.
