Stefania from Welwyn Garden City joined Oaklands College in September 2017, enrolled onto a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care.

From the beginning of her course it was clear to tutors that Stefania was a hard-working, determined student with ambitions to pursue her studies at University.

During her time on the course, Stefania studied from a plethora of core units, including Developing Effective Communication, Equality, Diversity and Rights and the Sociological and Psychological Perspectives for Health and Social Care.

Discussing her experience at Oaklands College, Stefania said; “Going to Oaklands College was never the plan for me, from the start, I was stuck on going to Sixth Form purely because the majority of my peers were going down that route; but deep down, I knew Sixth Form wasn’t for me.

Doing my own thing and gaining my independence whilst attending Oaklands College was the best thing that I could have done. The support, freedom, structure and routine of college was ideal and I wouldn’t change it for anything.”

Stefania completed the first year of her Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma with Distinction, Distinction, moving onto the final second year where she obtained a tripled Distinction*.

She said; “I am now off to University in September and I wouldn’t be able to if it wasn’t for Oaklands College the team of supportive and professional teachers and personal tutors.”
