Sir Terry Leahy speaks on Entrepreneurship, Leadership and Youth

On Thursday 20 September Oaklands College students and local schools were invited to the Welwyn Garden City campus to listen to Sir Terry Leahy speak on Entrepreneurship, Leadership and Youth. Sir Terry gave a speech to the students, giving them the inspiration to kick-start their year(s) with the College.

Sir Terry, now a part-time senior advisor to Clayton Dubilier & Rice and investor in entrepreneurial businesses, started his presentation by saying: “I hope that my presentation can light a few fires in the imaginations of the young people present. I received a really warm welcome and I thank the Principal, Zoe for inviting me to Oaklands.”

He later added: “I was thoroughly impressed by the quality of questions from the audience and it is clear that some ambitions are burning brightly and I hope that they can push on to personal success.”

Zoe Hancock, Principal of the College, commented: “It was a great honour and very exciting for the College to have Sir Terry Leahy speak to our students. He is a great example of where hard work, determination and aspiration can get you.

“I know that our students found inspiration from listening to Sir Terry Leahy’s successes and how achieved his goals.”
