Students top last year’s GCSE results

Increase in number of students successfully passing

Oaklands College students collected their GCSE results today and have once again improved on year-on-year statistics in the number of students achieving passing grades.

Matt Godman, Director of Faculty for GCSE and A Levels commented: “We are very pleased that we have seen over 30% more students taking GCSEs with us at the College and to see a significant increase in the numbers of students successfully achieving passing grades is extremely encouraging.

“We have seen a strong improvement in our Maths and Science grades, including our Double Science grades. We are also very proud that many students have successfully completed their GCSEs alongside their vocational qualifications and are off to university or employment.

“We would like to congratulate all of our students on their success and wish them luck as they progress.”

Zoe Hancock, Principal of Oaklands College, added: “After the success of our A Level students last week, we are thrilled to have our GCSE learners do so well. It’s great to see more students, of all ages, taking on new challenges and we are pleased to be able to offer them the opportunity to learn something new.”
