Oaklands has been a horticultural college for sixty years and we have fantastic grounds for students to work and practice their developing skills. The campus is set in mature, landscaped gardens with a large range of plant specimens and has a good range if facilities to deliver its courses including a new glasshouse, polytunnels, plant nursery, walled garden and arboretum. You can become a part of this by learning how to create a new garden, green walls and roofs, new techniques in tree planting and plant production.
Horticulture is a rewarding and exciting career, and at Oaklands College, you can gain nationally and internationally recognised qualifications. These qualifications can lead to employment within the industry or alternatively progression to university where you can pursue higher-level career options.
OPEN TO ALL LEVELS - Our horticulture courses are designed for amateur gardeners to seasoned horticulturalists, so whether you want to indulge a hobby or get serious and carve out a career, we can help you to succeed.
EXPERT TUTORS - Our staff are highly qualified, have an excellent knowledge of the industry, and are currently working with the students to regenerate the grounds.
ON-SITE NURSERY – To further support employability, we also run an operational nursery on-site where we sell to the public and take part in garden shows.
