Thousands flocked to College’s Summer Fayre

13 June 2016

Despite a rainy start, thousands gathered at Oaklands College’s St Albans Campus to enjoy the annual Summer Fayre on Sunday (12th).

Visitors enjoyed a variety of activities, including horseball, lamb racing, tractor and trailer rides, donkey rides, birds of prey aerial shows and a fun fair.

The Equestrian Centre treated guests to show jumping and dressage demonstrations, while the College’s Performing Arts and Music students took to the main stage throughout the day to entertain the crowd, performing excerpts from the musical Oliver.

The food court offered a range of tasty treats, including Lebanese and South African cuisine, and our Hospitality & Catering students got first-hand experience serving up Cajun chicken, pizzas and sausages.

Oaklands Principal Zoe Hancock said: “The Summer Fayre is the biggest event in our calendar and it’s one we always look forward to. It was lovely to see that the damp weather at the start didn’t stop people coming along and enjoying the day.”
