On March 30th Lucinda Neall of Neall Scott Partnership ( www.nealscott.co.uk and www.aboutourboys.com) gave a talk to Citizenship students about how they can get involved in their local community.

Lucinda has previously worked with staff at City of Bristol College and Filton College on equality and diversity issues as well as community engagement.

Lucinda talked to the students about her involvement in community affairs, and how being interested and engaged in something can make it less of a chore and part of who you are and what you do.

She organised activities for the students to tease out where their interests lay and then showed them what they could do in the community that would match their personalities. Lucinda advised them on how to achieve a good work/life balance and how to balance volunteering with other responsibilities in their lives.

It was wonderful to welcome Lucinda back to the College and the students really felt that they got a grip on how to move forward with voluntary activities.
