Art & Design students at Oaklands College have returned from a highly successful study trip to Barcelona, where they immersed themselves in the city’s vibrant creative and cultural scene.
Throughout the visit, students explored a range of internationally recognised galleries and cultural landmarks, including Moco Museum, MACBA, Design Museum of Barcelona and the iconic Parc Guell. Each visit offered valuable inspiration and research opportunities, directly supporting the development of students’ Final Major Projects. From contemporary installations to bold architectural forms, learners were able to experience first-hand the creative diversity that defines the city.
Blessed with fantastic weather throughout, the trip was both productive and memorable, giving students the opportunity to sketch, photograph and gather ideas in one of Europe’s most artistically influential cities. The impact of the visit is already evident, with the creative influence of Barcelona set to shape a Barcelona-inspired end-of-year show currently in development back on campus.
Students are now producing short marketing videos reflecting on their experience, which will be shared later this week. In the meantime, a selection of still images from the trip will feature in this week’s internal newsletter and across social media, offering a glimpse into an inspiring and creatively enriching visit.
