This week, our Barbering students put their skills to the test in a timed competition at the Welwyn Garden City campus, as we college hosted our first annual Barber Battle in the i-Collaborate space. In front of an audience of family, friends, and supporters, each student was given 45 minutes to complete a taper fade on their model.
The competition gave students the chance to demonstrate the skills they’ve developed over the year, with a strong focus on precision, technique, and overall presentation. The standard was high across the board, with all participants showing professionalism and attention to detail throughout.
Judging was carried out by former students now working in the industry, alongside experienced professionals, who assessed each cut carefully and provided constructive feedback. The judges praised the effort and progress of all involved, highlighting the quality of the work and the confidence shown on the day.
Well done to all the students who took part, and congratulations to the winners for their excellent performances. A big thank you to our judges for taking the time to support and tutor Kaye Denizer for putting on such a brilliant event.
The Barber Battle was a great way to end the year and celebrate student achievement.
