From the West End to Oaklands: Masterclasses Inspire Performing Arts Students

The Oaklands College Performing Arts team is committed to giving students direct access to industry professionals, providing training, insight, and inspiration that reflects today’s performing arts scene.

As part of this commitment, the department has partnered with West End leading lady Summer Strallen to bring exceptional talent to Oaklands for high-quality masterclasses.

Recently, students had the opportunity to learn from Lee Bridgman, who delivered two masterclasses inspired by Wicked. With a remarkable career across stage and screen, Lee shared valuable insights from his professional experiences, leaving students inspired and thoroughly engaged. (Find out more below about Lee’s work.)

The partnership with Summer Strallen continues this February as rehearsals begin for Anything Goes. Oaklands will welcome Alexandra Wright, currently performing in the West End cast of Back to the Future and recently appearing in the Barbican Theatre production of Anything Goes alongside Sutton Foster, Robert Lindsay, and Felicity Kendal.

Alexandra will lead a masterclass focused on Anything Goes, offering students unique insights into performing in a West End production. The session aims to inspire students and enhance their performance skills as they prepare for the College’s upcoming production.
