Hospitality & Catering Students Represent Oaklands College on Local Radio

Hospitality & Catering students at Oaklands College recently had the exciting opportunity to step into the world of broadcasting, taking part in recorded interviews at local radio station Mix 92.6.

During their visit, students recorded two separate radio segments, where they spoke about their recent success in the prestigious Zest Quest Asia competition and shared the inspiration behind The Stables Restaurant’s upcoming Valentine’s menu. The interviews gave listeners a behind-the-scenes insight into both the students’ achievements and the real-world learning experiences taking place at the College.

Throughout the recordings, students articulated their ideas clearly and engaged confidently with the presenters, demonstrating professionalism and enthusiasm that reflected positively on themselves and the College.

The segments were broadcast on Mix 92.6 FM as part of:

  • Weekend Wakeup with Jonny Seabrook

  • Mix Brunch with Emma Lovell & Steve Simpson (Culinary Delights)

Listeners were able to hear first-hand how students are applying their skills in a professional environment, from competition success to designing themed menus at The Stables Restaurant.

A huge well done to Amy M, Freddy S, Izzy A, Charlee K and Diana C for representing Oaklands College so positively. Thank you also to the Hospitality & Catering team for organising such a fantastic opportunity and continuing to provide valuable industry experiences for students.
