Industry Insight in Action: TDF Training Visits Oaklands Business Students

Oaklands College was delighted to welcome David Featherstone from TDF Training, who delivered an inspiring and insightful session to our Year 2 Business students.

Demonstrating a remarkable commitment to education and supporting young people, David travelled over three and a half hours to be with us. His dedication set the tone for a highly engaging and impactful session.

During his visit, students gained valuable real-world insight into key business practices, with a particular focus on the induction process and the importance of effective staff retention strategies.

Drawing on his industry experience, David shared practical examples that brought these concepts to life, helping students to better understand how organisations successfully onboard and retain talent.

Sessions like this are instrumental in bridging the gap between classroom learning and the workplace. By hearing directly from industry professionals, our students are able to deepen their knowledge, build confidence, and develop a clearer understanding of their future career pathways.

We are incredibly grateful to David for the time, energy, and expertise he shared with our students. Opportunities like this make a lasting impact, and we look forward to working together again in the future.
