Last week, Jordan Thomas returned to his former school, John F Kennedy Catholic School, on behalf of Oaklands College to inspire the next generation and highlight the opportunities available through the Wolves Academy pathway.
Jordan delivered two high-energy, hands-on boxing sessions across different year groups, giving students the opportunity to get active, build confidence and experience what it’s like to be coached within the Wolves Academy environment. The sessions introduced students to combat sport in a positive and disciplined setting, demonstrating how sport can be a powerful tool for focus, structure and self-belief.
Alongside the practical sessions, Jordan also delivered an inspiring presentation to Year 11 and Gifted & Talented students. He spoke about his journey from school pupil to Karate World Champion, sharing the dedication required to compete at the highest level and the setbacks he has overcome along the way. His message focused on resilience, ambition and the importance of taking opportunities when they arise.
Now High Performance Manager at Oaklands College, Jordan explained how he supports and develops aspiring athletes across a range of sports. He outlined the clear pathways available through the academies and how students can successfully balance education with elite-level sport. By providing structure, expert coaching and meaningful opportunities, Oaklands enables student-athletes to progress both academically and athletically.
It was a proud moment to see a former student return to inspire others, and a huge thank you goes to Jordan for delivering such engaging and impactful sessions for JFK students.
