Level 1 Business Students Raise £380 for Local Charity

This month, our Level 1 Business students made a fantastic impact during their Work Experience (WEX) week, raising an impressive £380 for Herts Young Homeless.

The week began with a presentation from the charity, introducing students to its work and setting out the project brief. Learners were then challenged to plan and deliver their own fundraising activity, taking on key roles within their teams including budgeting, marketing, and customer experience.

After three days of planning and preparation, the students delivered two engaging fundraising activities: a bake sale that nearly sold out of stock and a highly creative escape room experience. Both groups demonstrated strong teamwork, organisation, and entrepreneurial thinking throughout.

To conclude the week, each group formally presented their project, outcomes, and reflections, showcasing the skills they had developed and the impact of their fundraising efforts. The escape room team were recognised by judges for the creativity and professionalism of their overall delivery.

Raising five times their original start-up funding is a brilliant achievement and a testament to the students’ commitment and collaboration.

Well done to all students and staff involved for their hard work and dedication during this project.
