The men’s first team have been confirmed as NBL Division 2 Pool B winners, securing promotion with two games still remaining in the regular season after an outstanding run of results.
The achievement comes after the team won every league fixture so far, building an impressive 16–0 record to put the league title beyond reach of their nearest rivals with two games still to play. From the outset of the campaign, promotion was the clear objective, and the squad have delivered on that ambition with consistency, resilience, and composure throughout the season.
Head Coach Liam Jefferson praised both the results and the mentality shown by the group across the campaign.
“I am incredibly proud of the team, not just for the win which secures us the league title and promotion, but for how they have embraced all challenges so far this season. It takes a special group of players to set a target like promotion at the start of the season and pursue it week in, week out in the way they have done,” Jefferson said.
Winning every league game to date is a rare accomplishment, reflecting months of hard work on and off the court, as well as the depth and unity within the squad. However, despite their perfect record so far, the team remain firmly focused on maintaining their standards over the final two league fixtures.
An undefeated league season is a rare achievement, and one the group are fully committed to pursuing as the regular season draws to a close.
While the Pool B title and promotion are now secured, attention quickly turns to the next challenge.
“We will enjoy this one for a few days and then it’s straight back to work as our focus now shifts to the playoffs!” Jefferson added.
With momentum firmly behind them and high standards set, the team will look to finish the league season strongly before turning their full attention to the playoffs, where they will aim to continue an already outstanding campaign.
