Oaklands College Hosts impressive International Football Tournament

Oaklands College proudly hosted a prestigious Pro Academy International Football Tournament over five consecutive weekends at its St Albans Campus. The event welcomed over thirty elite professional academy teams from across the globe, with players traveling from countries including the Czech Republic, Italy, Germany, the United States, and beyond. 

Organised in partnership with Pro Academy Tournaments - a leading platform that delivers elite-level football events tailored for top-tier academy players - this tournament series is designed to provide young athletes with world-class playing opportunities, high-quality opposition, and a professional tournament experience. Pro Academy Tournaments are known for attracting top academy sides and fostering international development and exposure for emerging football talent. 

Throughout the tournament, Oaklands College was transformed into a vibrant hub of international sport, buzzing with energy as rising stars showcased their abilities in a competitive and inspiring environment. 

A standout moment came during the second weekend, when the U17 Player Development Programme (PDP) Tournament took place from 18th–20th April. Several international squads stayed onsite in Oaklands’ residential accommodation and made full use of the College’s excellent facilities, including the campus canteen. 

This landmark event not only celebrated the future of elite youth football but also demonstrated Oaklands College’s capability to host large-scale international sporting events, offering state-of-the-art facilities and a warm, inclusive atmosphere for visiting teams from across the world and the UK.
