Oaklands College Hosts SkillBuild Regional Qualifiers

This week, Oaklands College was proud to host the regional heat of the CITB SkillBuild National Competition for the second consecutive year. The event brought together colleges and employers from across the East and South East of England, including the Isle of Wight, creating a vibrant and competitive atmosphere on campus.

Competitors showcased their expertise across a range of construction disciplines, including Bricklaying, Site Carpentry, Bench Joinery, Cabinet Making, and Painting & Decorating. Participants were assessed on their technical skills, accuracy, problem-solving, and overall performance, with winners from each category progressing to the National Final in November.

The SkillBuild Regional Qualifiers provide an exceptional platform for the next generation of construction professionals to demonstrate their talent and gain valuable industry experience. The event also offered important networking opportunities for tutors and allowed full-time learners to engage with a wide range of industry partners.

It was a fantastic day celebrating skill, dedication, and the bright future of our construction workforce.
