Oaklands College is proud to announce that it will be the host venue for the 10th Anniversary of Sustainable St Albans’ ‘SustFest’ Festival, taking place on Saturday 15 November from 10am to 6pm at the college’s state-of-the-art Construction Centre.
This milestone event marks a decade of community-led action on sustainability, celebrating the achievements of Sustainable St Albans while inspiring continued innovation and collaboration for a greener future. Hosting the festival aligns with Oaklands College’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and community partnership, two key pillars of the Oaklands College Strategic Plan.
The festival will feature a packed programme of displays, workshops, and talks, bringing together community partners, local organisations, and the next generation of sustainability champions.
Adding a creative touch to the celebrations, Oaklands College Fashion students will present a sustainable fashion show and display. One of the highlights includes a recent collaboration with the Marshalswick Hospice Shop, where students transformed preloved men’s ties into stylish, one-of-a-kind garments — showcasing both innovation and environmental consciousness in design.
Meanwhile, Travel and Tourism students will be leading guided tours of the Construction Centre, highlighting its sustainable architecture and the college’s investment in environmentally responsible facilities.
The 10th Anniversary SustFest is set to be a celebration of community spirit, creativity, and the shared commitment to building a sustainable future.
