Oaklands Wolves Hockey Coaches Lead Hertfordshire U17 Teams to Victory at East Region Tournament

Last weekend proved to be a successful one for Oaklands Wolves Head Coach, Simon Archer and assistant coach, Sholto as they lead Hertfordshire’s U17 boys and girls hockey teams in the highly competitive East Region Hockey Tournament. The two coaches played a vital role in guiding the squads to success.

Facing off against tough opposition, including teams from Cambridge, Essex, and Bedfordshire, both Hertfordshire teams showcased remarkable determination, and teamwork throughout the tournament. While the boys' team continued their dominance by securing their sixth consecutive championship title, the girls' team made history by lifting the trophy for the first time in a decade.

Simon mentioned that it was great to see some of the players in the squads are also joining the Oaklands Wolves academy for the next academic year which gave him hope for another year of great talent within his academy.

The boys’ team delivered an amazing performance, demonstrating solid defensive play and outstanding finishing. Impressively, under the guidance of both Simon and Sholto, they did not concede a single goal throughout the entire tournament, something that is not new to both coaches.

This marks another successful milestone in Simons decorated coaching career, continuing his legacy in regional hockey. He also mentioned that it was great to see that some of the players are joining the Oaklands Wolves academy for the next academic year.
