Oaklands Wolves are excited to announce that 6’10 centre Deji Adekunle will be returning for his fourth season with the club, and his second consecutive year in Wolves colours.
Adekunle has been a familiar presence at Oaklands over the years, with two earlier spells before rejoining the programme last season. Standing tall as an intimidating shot blocker and rim-protector, Deji brings over a decade of professional experience to a young and ambitious Wolves roster.
A former NCAA Division 1 player at Northwestern State University, Adekunle’s professional career has seen him compete across four countries. His journey includes time with Plymouth Raiders and Thames Valley Cavaliers in England, alongside stints in Germany with Rensburg Twisters, SBB Baskets, and Itzehoe Eagles, Italy with Nuova Pallacanestro Menteroni, and Argentina with Club Atlético Pilar.
Head Coach Liam Jefferson said:
“Welcoming Deji back to our programme last season was a real highlight and I’m delighted to have him return this season. He is someone who takes great pride in his craft and as a pro who has had stops in five different countries, he brings experience and know-how to a young, dynamic roster. Deji is our defensive anchor and a threat around the basket, and I know our fans are going to love watching him suit up for the Wolves for another season.”
The Wolves tip off their 2025/26 NBL Division 2 campaign with Adekunle once again anchoring the defence, providing the presence, leadership, and inside scoring that has made him a fan favourite at Oaklands.
