Oaklands Wolves Strengthen with Two-Way Wing Matt Disu

Oaklands Wolves Strengthen with Two-Way Wing Matt Disu

Oaklands Wolves are pleased to confirm the signing of 6’4 wing Matt Disu for the 2025/26 season.

Disu joins the Wolves following a successful spell with Essex Rebels and, most recently, Hemel Storm, where he spent the past two seasons and was part of their 2025 League-winning campaign. Known for his energy and versatility, Disu brings a valuable balance of defensive intensity and offensive firepower to the Wolves’ lineup.

Head Coach Liam Jefferson highlighted the impact Disu can make on both sides of the ball:

“Matt is a player well known in the area after spending the last two years playing with BCB team, Hemel Storm. He is an athletic defender, someone who doesn’t shy away from the challenge of guarding the other team’s best player, whilst still being a handful on the offensive end. Matt gives our roster a different look, and I am thrilled that we were able to add him to our group.”

At 25, Disu is regarded as a lockdown defender and downhill scoring threat, with the ability to change the momentum of a game through his athleticism and competitiveness. His signing further demonstrates the Wolves’ ambition to build a roster capable of challenging across the league, while continuing to invest in players with proven ability and winning pedigree.
