Oaklands Wolves Welcome Back Guard Spencer Matthews

Oaklands Wolves Welcome Back Guard Spencer Matthews

Oaklands Wolves are excited to confirm the return of 6’0 guard Spencer Matthews to the roster for the 2025/26 season.

A product of the Oaklands Wolves Academy and former London Elite player, Matthews embodies the Wolves’ mission of developing homegrown talent and providing a pathway from academy to senior basketball. Known for his work ethic and unselfish style of play, he is a guard who thrives on facilitating the offence and bringing his teammates into the game.

Head Coach Liam Jefferson expressed his pride in welcoming another academy graduate back into the fold:

“Spencer is another Oaklands academy alumni, and I am pleased that we are able to add him back into the mix. It’s a real priority for us to provide opportunity for young local players to stay involved in the programme and grow with us. Spencer is a no-nonsense guard who will work harder than anyone, his ability to create and get others involved in the game will really complement the other players we have brought into the team.”

Matthews’ return highlights Oaklands Wolves’ commitment to developing young British players and ensuring a clear pathway for academy talent to continue their careers at senior level. His tenacity and playmaking will add depth and balance to the Wolves’ backcourt heading into the 2025/26 season.
