This week, we were delighted to welcome Pets as Therapy to our Oaklands College campus, where representatives spoke with students about the incredible work they do to support wellbeing within the local community.
The visit provided a wonderful insight into how animals can have such a positive impact on people’s mental health and emotional wellbeing — from bringing comfort to patients in hospitals, to spreading joy in nursing homes and schools.
Students had the opportunity to meet some of the charity’s friendly therapy animals and learn more about the difference they make through the simple act of companionship and care. The session also highlighted the rewarding experiences of Pets as Therapy volunteers, who dedicate their time to improving the lives of others.
We’re grateful to Pets as Therapy for visiting and inspiring our students with their message of kindness, empathy, and community service.
