Tay Brings Back the Energy: McGhee-Pleasant Returns to Oaklands Wolves

Tay Brings Back the Energy: McGhee-Pleasant Returns to Oaklands Wolves

Oaklands Wolves are delighted to confirm the return of forward Tayjanna McGhee-Pleasant for the 2025/26 SLB season.

Standing at 6’1, McGhee-Pleasant quickly became a fan favourite last year with her high-energy style and all-round versatility. She played a pivotal role in the Wolves’ successes last season, averaging 8.2 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2 assists per game. With a strong core of returners now confirmed, her re-signing underlines the Wolfpack’s intent to remain among the contenders in this year’s competitions.

Reflecting on her return, McGhee-Pleasant said:
“The new season isn’t just about the excitement of the competition ahead, but also about the opportunity to show your growth since the last one.”

The American forward heads back to Oaklands following an impressive summer in Australia with NBL One side Kalamunda Eastern Suns, where she put up standout numbers of 16.5 points, 6.1 rebounds and 3 assists per game.

Head Coach Lee Ryan expressed his excitement at having her back in the roster:
“It’s great to bring Tay back to the group. She is a huge character and played a big part in our successes last season. I look forward to continuing to help her unlock her incredible talent this season.”

With McGhee-Pleasant back in the line-up and a strong mix of returners and new signings, Wolves fans can expect another season of high-energy basketball from the Wolfpack.
