We were absolutely blown away by the turnout at this year’s Lambing Weekend – our biggest and best yet! Held at the St Albans Campus, the event welcomed thousands of visitors across two sun-filled days, all coming to experience the magic of springtime on the farm.
The real stars of the show were our newborn lambs, and it was a joy to see families getting up close and learning more about the care that goes into raising them. From cuddles in the lambing barn to curious questions from young animal lovers, the atmosphere was full of energy and excitement.
There was so much more to enjoy too – from pony grooming and wildlife talks to delicious street food and artisan stalls. One of my personal highlights was the fantastic live music from the Swanvesta Social Club, who had everyone dancing with their infectious Cuban rhythms.
Our students and staff were brilliant throughout the weekend, running interactive sessions and showcasing the skills they’re developing through our land-based and animal care courses. It was a brilliant opportunity to highlight just how much talent we have here at Oaklands.
I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, and supported the event. Your involvement helps raise vital funds for our courses and gives our students the chance to shine. I couldn’t be prouder of what we achieved together.
We can’t wait to welcome you back next year for even more fun on the farm!
