Year 2 Marketing students at Oaklands College are putting their skills into practice by working on a live brief to support Sunnyside Rural Trust in the lead-up to Learning Disability Week.
Working in teams, students are developing an engaging social media campaign designed to raise awareness, promote inclusion and celebrate the vital work Sunnyside Rural Trust does to support people with learning disabilities. The project gives students the opportunity to apply real-world marketing techniques, from audience targeting and content creation to campaign planning and collaboration.
As part of the brief, students are strengthening key digital marketing and teamwork skills while gaining valuable experience of working with an external organisation. Just as importantly, the project allows them to make a positive social impact by supporting an important cause within the local community.
The campaign highlights how live briefs play a vital role in preparing students for the workplace, helping them build confidence, professionalism and an understanding of how marketing can be used as a force for good.
