Oaklands Wolves Football Academy are proud to celebrate the success of our former student Mamadou Jobe, who recently featured in Cambridge United’s starting line-up against Premier League side Fulham FC in the EFL Carabao Cup.
Jobe, now a key part of Cambridge’s defence, studied at Oaklands College six years ago while representing the Oaklands Wolves Football Academy. After his time at Oaklands, Mamadou continued to pursue his footballing dream, joining Cambridge United’s youth team in 2021 before going on loan to several clubs, including St Neots Town, Concord Rangers, St Albans City, Maidstone United, and Gateshead. He made his return to Cambridge in March 2024.
Ahead of the 2024/25 season, Jobe faced a major setback after rupturing his cruciate ligament before the campaign began. Despite the injury, his determination and resilience shone through as he made a strong comeback, already making 13 appearances this season and scoring his first goal against Barnet.
Jobe’s impressive form earned him a spot in the starting XI against Fulham in the third round of the Carabao Cup. Despite a narrow 1-0 defeat for Cambridge, it marked another milestone in his growing career.
Now becoming a sentimental part in Cambridge’s defence, Mamadou continues to demonstrate his work ethic and passion both on and off the pitch.
