Functional Skills Maths - Distance Learning

Entry requirements

You must be 19 years old at the start of the current academic year, and you will need to complete an online assessment for both Maths and English to determine the level at which you should begin. Your English skills must be at least one level below the maths course you plan to study, as mathematical language is academic. For all government funded courses, you must start at the level indicated by your assessment results and progress to higher levels if needed.

Teaching staff

You will be supported by a specialist teacher assigned at the start of your course. They are experienced in teaching the Functional Skills specification and regularly attend training to stay current with updates and assessment requirements from exam boards.

This course runs for 12 weeks and includes one final assessment at the end of your learning, which consists of two papers, a non-calculator and a calculator paper. About the course

This qualification equip learners with the practical skills needed in everyday life, education, and the workplace. If you have never obtained a GCSE pass at grades A'C / 4'9 in Maths and you are British or have settlement status, this course will be fully funded by the UK Government.
