About the course

This course is for beginners who are new to clay work and want to explore this versatile medium. Over the 10 weeks you will start to develop your skills in clay preparation, be introduced to varies techniques including throwing, slab building, coiling, incorporating texture to your pieces and using slips and glazing. Your teacher will guide through the techniques, working at your own pace in a friendly and relaxed environment.

Course Content - What will I learn?

The course offers a variety of methods of clay work. You will have the opportunity to learn the techniques of coiling, slab building, wheel-work, slip decorating and glazing.
The course fee includes a material charge to cover the cost of clay, glazing and firing, up to a maximum weight of 1.5kg. If 1.5kg is exceeded then additional costs will apply. Materials to be provided by the student: An apron, sketch book/notebook. Students will be advised on any further items they may require for individual projects.
