Help & Guidance

Our approachable Student Support team is here to assist students across a variety of areas, including:

At Oaklands College, we’re committed to helping every student succeed. Our Additional Learning Support (ALS) team provides tailored support for students with learning difficulties, disabilities, health conditions, or any barriers that might affect learning on mainstream courses.

Whether you need help with assignments, study skills, assistive technology, exam arrangements, small group workshops or in some cases one-to-one support, we are here to make sure you get the most out of your time at college.

For learning support enquiries, please contact us by email at ALSReferrals@oaklands.ac.uk

For assistance with Exam Access Arrangements such as extra time, reading support etc, please contact us by email at EAA@oaklands.ac.uk.

To ensure you receive the best possible support throughout your studies, it is important to declare any learning support needs or disabilities when you join Oaklands College.

For applicants who have an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) who wish to attend a mainstream course; we must follow a statutory process, which begins with a consultation from your local authority. You need to notify your Local Authority/EHCP officer that you intend on applying to Oaklands and they will send us a consultation.

For assistance with enquiries regarding the statutory process or general enquiries regarding an EHCP, please contact us by email at ehcpreviews@oaklands.ac.uk

For advice regarding Special Educational Needs, please reach out to our team by emailing life@oaklands.ac.uk.
